Participants should understand using meters for troubleshooting
Participants should understand electrical motor and their loads on electrical system

Participants should understand electrical codes that apply to HVAC system

Participants should know what voltage drop is and the limits imposed by the code and equipment manufacture.

Safety first and why
Lock out tag out review
Using meters, types of meters, reading voltage, reading current, reading resistance.

Motors the types, how they work why the current reduces as they come up to speed

Direct current principles, alternating current principles
Troubleshooting motors and components
Cause of motor failures
Power system used
Class is 8hours credit

The course is design to increase the awareness of Master contractors and Journeyman of the importance of Motor loads on the power system and the common causes of motor failures and how a burn out can be cause by some other compo
