Participants should be able to do a heat load and understand what they did.
Participants should know where to get the information to do a heat load.
Participants should be able to do a heat load and understand what they did.
Participants After completing this course the individual should understand heat load on a non-engineering level.
- Course Involves
The history of heat loads from no heat load to the tons per square foot.
Types of heat loads and purpose of heat loads.
- Importance to you and your customer.
What is involved in doing a heat load.
The problems involved with over-sizing equipment. The difference in average and peak heat load.
Going Green, what is involved, the cost saving in improving insulation.
Types of heat, heat and energy relationship, how heat moves, heat losses.
How construction affects the heat loss through walls, floors, ceilings.
The effects of venting attics.
Sun shine through glass.
Humidity and its effects on heating and cooling, and effects of heating and
cooling on humidity.
Outside conditions for heat load calculations. Other loads that need consideration.
How to survey site, and information needed. Doing a heat load for resident.
Class 8 hours credit
The course is designed to increase the awareness of Master contractors and Journeyman of the importance of a heat load on each system they work on.
In many systems the problems are not readily seen. They only become apparent when you have an accurate heat load to compare to the system.
This course is code related as it is required for a system change.
